Don't worry, "La Femme Nikita" has not been canceled.
Despite its funeral theme, this site is just a strange little shrine
to one of the most brilliant shows on television, and should not be
considered a sign or confirmation of the series' cancellation.
Section One's notorious cemetery, Acceptable Collateral Acres (Copyright © 1997-2001 AADC), is based on the idea that it is probable that a highly classified anti terrorist organization, with a monstrous mortality rate, would maintain its own post-mortem containment center.
The purpose of such an establishment would be to provide Section personnel (those with a near total lack of moral compunction (you know, "Housekeeping")) an arena to perform scientific research, which might include such things as autopsies, cryogenic experimentation, genetic material storage, et cetera, on their dearly departed fellow operatives. All for the benefit and preservation of the Section, of course.
The addition of a setting where each operative, recruit, bureaucrat, and top-level official would be assigned a cemetery plot upon their initiation into the Section, which would effectively remain empty until such time as their final earthly remains might be disposed of, is therefore not too much of stretch. And for that oh, so important "touchy-feely" Section spin, the setting would also allow operatives, etc., to visit the graves of their Section comrades and loved ones, lay flowers by their tombstones, shed tears, remember the good ol' times, blah, blah, blah, while reminding them not only of their own mortality, but that of their friends and teammates. Such tactics could be crucial in the promotion of more efficient operations.
My code name is Carlotta de Bois-Guilbert, and I am Section One's cemetery caretaker. My role at Acceptable Collateral Acres can be defined as a amalgamation of a funeral director, a diplomat, and a maintenance engineer. It is my duty to arrange all matters pertaining to the burial of collateral; to placate (sometimes bribe) and toady to the heads of Housekeeping to keep this place afloat; and to supervise more general aspects of the operation, like the maintenance of the graves, occupied or not, the grounds, and the buildings and facilities.
Each plot in Section's sanctioned final resting place represents the beginning or the end of a story. People who chose to become operatives, those that opted for death rather than further damnation, failed recruits, seasoned operatives, innocent and not-so-inncocent bystanders; myriad decisions that have and will ultimately deliver people to this place. Every person assigned a row and a plot, a combination of numbers that assures their place in the cemetery.
One such designation belongs to an operative,
Nikita, code-named Josephine,
who was recruited by Section One four years ago.
Her story follows:
