Rating: It's poetry, so I'm gonna go with A and C. Ambiguous and Confusing (hmm, maybe that would be a better title?)
Disclaimer: Even though there are no direct references to any of the characters or institutions found in "La Femme Nikita" within this poem, it should be stated that everything "La Femme Nikita" belongs to the creators, producers, companies and networks that have so graciously shared this show with us, viewers hungry for good television.
Author's Note: This is post "Mercy," and should be viewed through Nikita-colored glasses.
Spoilers: Again, A and C - No direct spoilers, so don't fret.
Hanging
Let me in,
I won't let you fall.
Save your soul, oui,
But can my heart pay the toll?
I'll give you everything that I am,
But will you let that be enough?
Climb down from your icy solitude
And let me warm your slowing blood.
What is hell, if not these steel walls,
These cold stares, and absent words?
Give me your heart and I will set it free.
Trade me your soul and I will make it breathe.
Why do you resist? Futile question, I know.
You plead with me to embrace my damnation,
But you know it will only break your heart.
Alone and surrounded, the fates pull us apart.
Never knowing if we'll see each other again,
One link keeps our separated beings near.
And as you use it to ask me if I'm here
I must turn away from your words
With my mind,
But my heart
And soul
Answer unanimously;
Always
